Williams Named to 1st Team | Video

Scott Westerburg | 12/4/2012

First he was Missouri Valley Defensive Player of the Year and now he`s an All-American. The awards keep piling up for North Dakota State cornerback Marcus Williams. Today, the junior from Minneapolis was named to the Coaches Association All-American 1st Team. Williams leads the Bison with five interceptions, one of them he returned 98 yards for a touchdown. He also returned a kickoff that same distance for a score against Illinois State.

Williams has 16 career interceptions, which ties the NDSU school record. This is the second straight year a Bison player has picked up 1st team All-American honors, offensive lineman Paul Cornick was selected last fall.

Williams and the Bison are home this Saturday against Wofford in the quarterfinals of the FCS playoffs. We will have an hour long pregame show beginning at 1:00 p.m. central from the FargoDome. But just like last Saturday, we will not be able to bring you the game on our station. ESPN is keeping the rights to this one as well, so your viewing options will be the same as they were for the South Dakota State game.
