NDSU`s win in Normal, Illinois, over the weekend not only secured the number one seed for the FCS playoffs, it also produced two players of the week in the Valley Conference.

Marcus Williams is the special team player of the week for his 98-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Cole Jerik earned the defensive honors with three sacks and two forced fumbles. He also received recognition from College Sporting News as a national All-Star.

"Any football coach will tell you that you get in and you have to start playing games no matter where you`re at. Playoffs are an exciting time, it`s a whole new season, you wipe the slate clean and get your self ready to play. We were really excited to win the Missouri Valley Conference outright and that was the number one goal of our players right from the beginning of the year a pretty daunting task and we were able to do it," said coach Craig Bohl.

The Bison have this week off and they will host the winner of the South Dakota State against Eastern Illinois game which is this Saturday.

"Now we are in the next phase of our season we are grateful for having a bye. I think we need to have some guys who have been playing get healed up. We`ll take a balanced look at our practice routine and how we approach this week to get ourselves ready to go against South Dakota State or Eastern Illinois," Bohl said.

The Bison will play on December 1 from the Fargodome. ESPN owns the television rights to all playoff games but if we can talk them into letting us carry it, we will.
