818th Arrival In Bismarck | Video

KFYR-TV | 3/22/2013

Nearly 100 soldiers with the North Dakota National Guard 818th engineer company are back home. Hundreds of people waited for them to land at the Army Aviation Support Facility in Bismarck.

The 818th has been going through demobilization in Texas, after serving a year-long deployment in Afghanistan. They lost two soldiers, Sergeant first-class Darren Linde and specialist Tyler Orgaard, in an explosion last December and specialist Ian Placek was wounded.

North Dakota Governor Jack Dalrymple and Congressman Kevin Cramer were also on hand to welcome home the troops.
