2012 Deer Gun Season Summary

This week the Game and Fish Department released the results from the 2012 deer gun hunting season. Hunters took about 34,500 deer during the season. Game and Fish issued 95 percent of the 65,150 available licenses, which puts hunter success for the season at 63 percent.

Each hunter spent an average of 4.4 days in the field.

The Game and Fish Department says hunter success for antlered white-tailed deer was 76 percent; antlerless whitetail was at 62 percent. Mule deer buck success was 81 percent.
