Kristin Clouston | 3/15/2013

Elementary school students from Shiloh Christian School set a reading goal, surpassed it and celebrated their success. The students were supposed to read 200 nonfiction books over the past two weeks. They read more than 800.

They got to meet authors Kathy Kinitski and Jim Karn and Karn`s illustrator, Sean Thornson. Karn, whom they call Mr. Jim, shared stories of what it was like growing up on a farm.

"Well I got all three of their autographs and the illustrator, Mr. Sean, he drew me a Skyhawk for me and it looks really cool," said Alyssa.

The Skyhawk is the school mascot.
