Have a Heart is a Success | Video

Today we wrapped up the Have a Heart Food Drive here at KMOT. Over the past month, KMOT teamed up with the Minot Area Homeless Coalition for the 10th annual food drive. The station received hundreds of food, hygiene and cleaning product donations from area residents. All the goods that were donated will go to five different food pantries and soup kitchens in the Magic City,

“There`s been an increased usage of the food pantries, some of them 35 percent increase. How do you maintain helping those individuals if you can`t keep your place stocked? So that was a big concern for us when we first started this, we didn`t realize it was going to grow into as big as it is now, because nobody could`ve foreseen the tremendous need being as high as it is now,” said Mac Mcleod, Executive Director for the Minot Area Homeless Coalition.

We`d like to thank everyone who stopped in and dropped off donations. With your help KMOT was able to raise 1,005 pounds of donated goods.
