“Basin United way set a high goal for $250,000. We came in at $180,500. We were very impressed with that number. Due to the fact that it was 46 percent increase over the previous hears of money raised,” said co-chair Kathryn Kihle.
Ninety-nine percent of the money Basin United Way raised stays in the community. To kick of their 2013 campaign, Basin United Way is having their first fundraiser on Thursday, February 21.
“The American State Bank sponsored Teton Night at Williston State College. The Tetons will be playing. At both the girls and boys games we will be participating with a number of different really neat activities involving duct tape. We’ll be sticking somebody to a chair, and raising some money. Hopefully they can free themselves from that chair by the end if the evening,” said volunteer Ryan Ogaard.
There will also be a contest that night, with cash prizes. Basin United Way is asking people to come to the game in their favorite Teton apparel made out of duck tape. For more information on Basin United Way you can call 774-4106.
