Curbside Recycling Meeting | Video

Retha Colclasure | 2/5/2013

The opportunity for Bismarck residents to let the city commission know what they think about a proposed curbside recycling meeting has been pushed back a week. The city commission is considering raising trash fees by a few dollars a month, providing residents with these recycling bins and contracting with a company to pick up recyclables the same way trash is collected.

The public input meeting had originally been scheduled for January 31, but was cancelled because of the weather. It will now be part of the Bismarck City Commission`s regularly scheduled meeting on February 12.

Jeff Heintz with Bismarck Public Works says a recycling program could extend the life of the city landfill for years.
