URL Celebrates Martin Luther King, Jr. Day | Video

Today is a national holiday celebrating the life of Martin Luther King, Junior. Most schools were closed and state employees had the day off. Organizations around the country and the state paid tribute to the civil rights leader in their own ways.

URL radio played portions of Dr. King`s speeches throughout the morning.

"He had so many great speeches so we`ve been playing little bits and pieces throughout the morning so that people can get to Martin Luther King Jr. Again and also it`s a good reminder because it still does apply today if not equal rights for minorities or women," said Stacy Sturm with URL Radio.

Sturm says even though it was cold outside, several people stopped by and listened to the speaker outside the URL studio.
