Proposed Missing Child Law

This morning lawmakers heard testimony on a bill that would make it a Class C felony for a caregiver to fail to report a missing child within 24 hours and the death of a child within two hours. It comes in response to the Casey Anthony case several years ago. Committee members heard concerns about the bill that included who a caregiver is defined as and at what age a person is considered a child.
