Bismarck to Begin Christmas Tree Pickup | Video

Joel Porter | 1/1/2013

People living in Bismarck can start putting their live Christmas trees on the curb next week. On Monday, the Bismarck Public Works Department will begin curbside Christmas tree pickup. People are asked to leave the trees on the curb near their garbage containers on their scheduled trash day.

Those living in apartments can pile the trees along the curb. The Public Works Department is asking apartment dwellers to not throw the trees in the dumpster or pile them nearby.

"It`s a perfect opportunity. You just leave it at your curb and if you miss it by a day for the week, just remember, we`ll be coming out next week again for two weeks here in January, starting on Monday," Galen Bren said public works recycling specialist Galen Bren.

Bismarck`s curbside pickup runs through January 18. Mandan residents may drop off their trees near the public works facility at 6th Avenue southwest or they can haul them to the landfill west of town.
