Property Taxes Going Up | Video

Amy Fox | 12/14/2012

Tax forms are being printed, consolidated, and ready to mail at the Ward County Treasurer/Auditor Office. But you could get a big surprise next week. There`s been a 10 percent increase in property assessment. That means Minot taxpayers will be digging deeper into their wallets.

Taxes will fluctuate from district to district. As Ward County Auditor/Treasurer Devra Smestad explains, a number of different factors can influence your taxes.

"Everything that comes into the consolidated brings from a different entity and that`s why there`s such a different as you go from one place to another."

There will be a section on your tax statement to break down your past taxes, so you can see where increases are.

If you pay your taxes in full by February 15, Smestad says you will get a five percent discount.
