Verendrye Spreading the Holiday Cheer | Video

During the Holidays many people donate food, clothing and toys different charities, but a local electric co-op is taking a different approach to the idea. In 2003, a customer of the Verendrye Electric Co-op made an anonymous donation towards someone else`s monthly bill. Since then, members and employees have donated to fellow co-operative members who are going through hard times during the holiday season.

Verendrye`s Secret Santas have donated more than $6,000 and helped about 60 people over the years. “You know, people can make a difference. If you think with your heart and if you`re able to help somebody else out, it does make a difference. We can help so many people in the world today. And as you can see, in North Dakota, people do care and people do give and help others,” said Cindy Shattuck, Credit Manager for Verendrye.
