WSC Gives Back to Troops | Video

Chris Williams | 11/27/2012

Thousands of soldiers will be overseas during the Holidays, and Williston State College is trying to make it a little easier for them. The college`s Veteran`s Club is parenting with Books for Soldiers. They are collecting books, movies and other small gifts for the men and women overseas.

Co-Advisor Tony Freed served in the Navy. He spent several years overseas working on engines for airplanes. Freed says it was always tough being away from family and friends, especially during the holidays, and the packages are a nice reminder of home.

“It really boosts the morale because it kind of brings you back to home. Even if that package that you get is from a random person, it still reminds you why you`re over there and who you`re doing this for, and what you really have to look forward to when you get home.”

Donations can be dropped off at the College in room 209B or 112D through December 12. If you would like more information about the program, or what to donate contact Tony at 774-4502.
