Flaxton Woman Dies in Crash

A Flaxton woman is dead after a crash Saturday morning in Burke County. The highway patrol says Ona F. Nelson, 62, was driving south-bound on County Road 11 near Lignite when she lost control on the icy road. She was hit by an on-coming semi-truck.

Both vehicles rolled into a ditch. The driver of the semi was injured. The highway patrol is still investigating the crash.
