Christmas Tree Lights Up Downtown Minot | Video

Julie Leonardi | 11/23/2012

The downtown Minot Christmas tree was lit Friday evening as soon as the sun set. The tree attracted many people to come down and get in the holiday spirit.

Most residents came early to walk the streets and visit shops. Local restaurants and bakeries offered free samples of food and drinks. It was a cold night, but that didn’t stop anyone.

“This is beautiful, I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s a tiny town, but with so much spirit, it’s really awesome.” said Gerri and Peter Duey who came downtown with their baby boy Landon to experience his first Christmas. “It’s just fun to come down and walk around and see what’s here.”

Many Minot residents believe the town looks best when lit up. The tree lights up every night at dusk and will stay there until Christmas Day.
