Alex Hagan | 11/22/2012

People of all ages took part in the 23rd annual Turkey Trot in Bismarck. The event has a 5K and 10K Run with another 5K walk. The run raises money for people who suffer from cystic fibrosis. Last year the trot had more than 1,600 participants and volunteers say they had just as big of turnout this Thanksgiving day.

"The good news is that the people in the area, Bismarck-Mandan primarily from throughout the state and now we`re getting people from outside the state who come here for Thanksgiving to visit family, whatever the case may be. They`re coming here and they`re taking part," said Ken Karls from the Cystic Fibrosis Association.

The Turkey Trot runs along the Missouri River.
