NDDOT Director Retires | Video

Retha Colclasure | 11/20/2012

After more than 40 years with the Department of Transportation, director Francis Ziegler has announced he`s stepping down. Ziegler has been the director of the agency for six years. His last day will be November 30.

He says leaving is bittersweet.

"There`s a great team. There`s not one person in this organization that can make it run. It takes a whole team. There`s a good team behind me. They`ll make it happen."

Ziegler plans to visit his grandkids and spend time in Arizona. Grant Levi, the department`s deputy director, will serve as interim director through the 2013 legislative session.
