Authorities Investigate New Town Deaths

School officials have canceled classes at New Town public school for today following an incident that happened last night. People living in the community say four people are dead following a shooting.

The Mountrail County Sheriff`s Department was investigating, but hasn`t confirmed anything yet.

Kyle Loven from the Minneapolis division of the FBI said there are four people from New Town that are dead and there is no threat to the public at this time. He couldn`t comment on any other details.

According to our station in Fargo, KVLY-TV, a woman and her three grandchildren have been shot and killed in New Town. The incident happened at 3:00 Sunday afternoon.

A man also died in Parshall around 8:30 pm. It`s unclear if it`s related to the deaths in New Town.

The bodies will be in Bismarck for autopsies.
