Don’t Buy It, Until We Try It: Sticky Buddy | Video

Cleaning up after your kids and your pets can be a nonstop job. We’re talking about hair all over the place. But, there may be an easier way to clean up all of the messes without dragging out the vacuum.

In this week`s "Don`t Buy It, Until We Try It," I tried out Sticky Buddy.

They advertise Sticky Buddy as a sticky picker-upper. It`s as easy as three simple steps. All you have to do is pick up the debris, rinse it off, and it`s ready to reuse. Not to mention, the rubber fingers help you reach deep within the carpet.

But, does this product actually work? Well, “Don`t Buy It, Until We Try It."

Bowls of chili and sippy cups line the tables at ABC Child Care Center, which could mean only one thing: it’s lunch time.

"Everything ends up on the floor with kids and that`s just the way it is," said director LaVonne Beyerle.

With lots of little messes, that means more work.

"Our process is quite lengthy and it would be really nice if we had something that was a lot faster," Beyerle said.

While Beyerle has developed a cleaning system for the child care center, she`s always looking for ways to save time.

So, we decided to put Sticky Buddy to the test.

We pulled Sticky Buddy out of the box and it was ready to use, no assembly required.

Now, it was time to try it out.

We rolled Sticky Buddy across the floor and the sticky part of the roller picked up most of the food crumbs and debris.

Then, it was time to rinse it off. All of the food literally fell off the roller when it was under the water.

"Very nice. It’s ready to go back for more," said Beyerle.

The next stop, the craft room.

"We have a lot of cutting scraps because they`re learning how to cut."

We repeated the same steps. But this time, Beyerle had a little difficulty getting the paper off Sticky Buddy.

The kids aren’t alone. Pets can also leave behind a trail. So, we once again decided to put Sticky Buddy to the test.

"I always come home covered in fur and get lots of sniffs from animals at home and have to use a lint roller to get it all off," said Pinkerton Animal Hospital vet assistant Jondrea Crawford.

We repeated the three steps once again and had the same results.

We just got done trying out Sticky Buddy. And, it really was just as easy as three simple steps like advertised on TV. Even after using it several times, it stayed pretty clean. And, you never know, you could save some time and energy.

So this week`s “Don`t Buy It, Until We Try It” earns a thumbs up.
