Xcel Awards Grants to Minot Groups | Video

The Minot art community is getting a big boost. The Xcel Energy Foundation donated $21,000 to five non-profit programs in the Minot area, including the Hostfest Association and the Minot Area Council of the Arts.

Xcel hopes the money will help increase accessibility to artistic and cultural activities. The grants will go on to create big returns for Minot.

“The non-profit arts industry in Minot, ND is a nine million dollar industry. So the arts organizations across our community generate those dollars into the economy, but not only that, they have an impact in terms of quality of life”, said Minot Area Council of the Arts Director Terri Aldrich.

“By focusing our energies on this, we are able to make a greater impact on our communities and provide opportunities for cities and helping our communities flourish,” added Kathy Aas, of Xcel Energy.
