The homeless in Bismarck may soon have a new place to stay. The Ruth Meiers Hospitality House is opening a new facility to make room for men who need emergency housing. Bremer Bank is donating a quarter of a million dollars to pay for the renovation.

The new home will be converted from an old bowling alley at 305 north 23rd street. The home will have space for 120 men.

"The need has grown so dramatically in the last year. As all the good things that`re dramatically happening in Bismarck-Mandan, also come some challenges. And the board at Ruth Meiers and the group over there has done a great job in stepping forward to meet those needs," said Bremer Bank president Kevin Strege.

Ruth Meiers Executive Director Jaci Bugbee says she hopes to open the new facility next month. The Ruth Meiers Hospitality House has been open since 1987.
