Norwich Man Arrested for Burglary

A Norwich man is in custody after being charged with a weekend burglary in Ruthville. Just before 5:00 on Sunday morning, the Ward County Sheriff`s Department responded to a burglar alarm at the Ruthville Bar in Ruthville. Deputies found the front door window broken out and saw a male flee through a side door.

The man was chased into a wheat field. The Minot Police K-9 unit was called in and the man, Thomas Bott, 25, from Norwich was found laying down in the field.

During the investigation, police discovered the Bott was also tied to a July burglary in Sawyer.

Bott was charged with two counts of burglary. He is being held in the Ward County Jail pending a court appearance.
