Malware Infects Computers | VideoJerame Novak | 7/9/2012
The malware re-directed computers to false websites run by criminals. The websites were used to scam money from unsuspecting customers. The scam has been shut down.
If you think your computer is infected, there are a couple of websites that will check your system. A current, up-to-date, anti virus can help you as well.
But the best way to protect yourself is to surf the web safely.
"Always update your computer. Make sure you have the latest version of anti-virus software. Make sure that you`ve got the latest version of some sort of anti-malware program and always kind of stay to the safe internet sites," said Dan Durkee, President of Connecting Point Computer Center.
To see if your computer is infected and for tips on how to protect your system, visit www.dcwg.org or dns-ok.us.
If you can`t get online, get an anti-virus program onto a flash drive and install it onto your computer.
