Minot Fire Department Raises Over $38,000

| 6/25/2012

The numbers are in from the Minot Fire Department`s Fill the Boot campaign. The department says that they raised $38,900 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, nearly double their goal.

The Fill the Boot campaign took place from June 19-21 at three locations in Minot. This is the third year of the campaign.

"The Minot community should be proud of themselves and their fire department." said Marijo Peterson, Executive Director of the Muscular Dystrophy Association of North Dakota. "The families affected by muscle disease in Ward County are so lucky to have the Minot Fire Department`s support year after year."

"This was way beyond our expectations." said Dan Fuller, Minot Firefighter and 2012 Fill-the-Boot Coordinator. "The entire department was involved in this year`s campaign. We even had additional help from 16 Minot Air Force Base Firefighters."

The money will help local individuals and families affected by muscular dystrophy-related diseases.
