North Dakotans overwhelmingly voted to keep property taxes, and the Keep It Local North Dakota coalition says that shows voters took their role as citizens seriously.

Chad Oban says while some may say the special interests won, a group as large and ideologically diverse as opponents of Measure 2 had only one interest: protecting North Dakota`s way of life.

He says he and others believed that once the people saw the facts, they would reject the measure.
