The bikes inside the gym were spinning all day today, and for a good reason.

"We are raising money for relay for life, and it`s a spin a thon. It`s our third annual spin a thon, bake sale, silent auction. We`re sitting on the bike for 14 hours," said Rita Kolden Team Captain for "Bracing for a cure" Relay for Life.

They were plenty of baked goods available, and other items that could be won through a silent auction. Kolden has been doing the event for three years, and is happy to have more riders this year.

"the first year I did it by myself it just got to be too much, I sat on the bike for 10.5 hours. The second year I had another partner and we did 6 hours each. And this year I just got hourly people to sit on the bike."

The goal is to raise as much money as possible to help find a cure for cancer.

"We get pledges from people around the community, and the bake sale is a really good fundraiser, and also the silent auction," Kolden added.

Kolden says this event has a special meaning to those affected by cancer.

"I think they really appreciate it, for people to go out and try to raise money and try to fun a a cure for cancer."

As long as help keeps coming, the spin-a-thon will be around for awhile.

"I hope to keep it going for a long time, as long as I get people to sit on the bike with me," said Kolden.

Riders signed a board after they were finished to say why they rode.
