Way To Go Will-Moore! | Video

Kristin Clouston | 5/24/2012

Will-Moore elementary students got a nice surprise today. Children from Africa sent a video of them wearing rain coats that Will-Moore kids helped buy for them. For the past 12 years, sixth grade classes have organized a fundraiser to help needy children.

This year`s proceeds will be used to help protect African children from Malaria.

"We sent the money to this organization called Freedom From Hunger and what they did was they bought mosquito nets to put over the kids so mosquitoes can`t get to them at night and they doubled the money they donated an extra dollar for every dollar we sent them so I thought that was really good," said sixth grader Van Larson.

Will-Moore students raised nearly $2,300 by holding a rummage sale and didn`t find out until today that their donation would be matched.

The school has raised more than $15,000 thousand dollars since starting the annual service project.
