Band Night Parade | Video

Kristin Clouston | 5/11/2012

People in Bismarck took advantage of Friday`s beautiful weather and lined the streets to watch the Band Night Parade. This is the 20th year school bands from all over western North Dakota have gathered to celebrate music. Nearly 40 bands, a total of 2,000 students, marched from the capitol grounds to the Civic Center.

Students put in long hours getting ready for the event but say it`s worth it.

"I really like being able to be part of something we work really hard for, and then we get to show all of the work that we`ve done and show everyone we like being in band," said Kylie Rush of St. Mary`s High School.

Band night is a non-competitive event and band members say they like cheering on kids from other schools.
