Grant Awarded to Provide Counseling for Flood Victims

Courtney Kabot | 1/19/2012

The spring flooding took a toll on North Dakotans both financially and emotionally. Some residents are finding that they need a little extra help.

The Department of Human Services has awarded more than $2.5 million in grant money to provide outreach crisis counseling and emotional support to those flood-impacted residents. The federal grant will support eight counties that were affected by flooding.

The Department of Human Services contracts with Lutheran Disaster Response to provide counseling services through Project Renew.
