Pomeroy Free to Lobby Former Colleagues

Brian Howell | 1/6/2012

Former Democratic Representative Earl Pomeroy is one of about a hundred former members of Congress defeated in the last election cycle who can now lobby their former stomping grounds.

Federal law allows former members of Congress to work for lobbying firms after they leave office, but they cannot directly lobby their former colleagues for a period of time.

That cooling off period expired this week for Pomeroy, who has worked for the Washington, D.C., based law firm Alston and Bird`s health policy group for about a year now.
