Barbecue lovers should bring antacid to the table -- not for the food but for the rising prices.

Beef and pork prices have gone up by double digits in the last year, forcing some barbecue joints to raise their prices.

Mike Lefavers at The Feed Store BBQ in Southlake, Texas has been forced to increase prices across the board.

"We`re just trying to keep our margins reasonable and keep our quality at its best," he said. "We try and find other ways to save money.

The restaurant manager said he tries to buy napkins and trash bags in bulk to cut costs.

"I shop where they know when I`m going to buy, I`m going to buy in bulk. And I don`t run credit. I pay in cash every day," Lefavers said.

But he said he won`t cut corners by buying cheaper meat

"They`re going to eat barbecue, and they`re going to eat good barbecue," Lefavers said. "If they know they`re going to get good barbecue, they`re going to pay for it."
