Minot Attorney Named District Judge | Video

Minot attorney Todd Cresap has been named
as North Dakota`s newest district judge.
Gov. John Hoeven appointed Cresap Monday to a new
job in the Northwest Judicial District in Minot. He starts January 1st.
The district includes six counties in northwestern North Dakota.
With the addition of Cresap, it now has five judges in Minot and
two in Williston.
The Legislature established two new district judgeships this
year, the other in Jamestown.
North Dakota`s 44 district judges handle trials, hearings and
other proceedings in the state`s civil and criminal courts. The job pays nearly $114,000 dollars a year.
Cresap has been a private attorney in Minot since he graduated from the University of North Dakota`s law school in 1986. He has a bachelor`s degree in economics from Minot State University.
