The race is on to collect good quality gently used kid’s coats and other winter gear for Coats for Kids. KFYR-TV Chief Meteorologist Kevin Lawrence asks everyone in western North Dakota to check their closets for kid’s coats, snowsuits, caps, scarves, mittens and boots that your child has outgrown. Turitto's Dry Cleaners in Bismarck will clean each donated item and the Salvation Army Social Services will distribute the winter gear to kids in our community who need it. Last year, nearly 2,000 coats and other items were donated to this annual community project. If you would like to donate a kid's coat or other winter apparel, please drop the items off at either Turitto's Dry Cleaners in Bismarck or at their locations inside select Dan’s Supermarkets in Bismarck/Mandan. The winter gear items will be distributed to area kids September 22nd, 23rd, and 24th.
