LEE ELLISON
News Photographer
I was born and raised in Mandan. I got the broadcasting itch in 1986 and landed my first job as a studio camera operator at the CBS station in Bismarck. I also had other various behind-the-scenes rolls until I moved to full-time news photographer.
I began at KFYR-TV in November of 2007 as a studio camera operator. I missed the news part of the business, so when a full-time news photographer job opened up, I jumped at the chance to work behind the lens for The News Leader.
When I’m not at work, I enjoy naps, spending time with my wife, Leslye, and my two sons, Drew and Trace. I also like to try and play golf, read and play video games.
I love meeting new people. If you see me out and about, don’t be afraid to come up and say hi. Most times, I won’t stick a camera in your face.
