DWAYNE WALKER I got the “shutter bug” from my dad, who always liked to be the first to own “new technology.” We had a darkroom in our home in Selfridge where I would spend a lot of time printing pictures I had taken with one of his many cameras. Being able to use a 16mm camera landed me my first job in television at the age of 20. I have been a TV news photographer for over 42 years; 37 of those as Chief News Photographer at KFYR TV. I enjoy bringing our viewers the sights and sounds of the world around us. I have taken you to places I never dreamed of going when I was growing up in a small town in North Dakota. Together, we have seen the Great Wall of China, the deserts of Saudi Arabia, the slums of Central America, and the skies over the prairie in a World War II vintage B-17 Bomber I am married to another North Dakota native, Renae Hoffmann Walker, who used to be a reporter at KFYR TV. My son Ryan and his wife Kara live in St Michael, Minnesota, with their daughter Halaina. My oldest daughter Heidi and her husband Jim live here in Bismarck with their sons Jimmy and Ben. My youngest daughter Ariana is attending the University of Mary. I enjoy boating, water skiing, down hill snow skiing, hunting, camping and spending the summer weekends on the Missouri River with my family and friends. I also have a side business doing wedding photography, both still and video. I have a studio in my home where I edit and produce video programs for schools and private businesses. When I’m not working or playing, I spent time in my vegetable garden raising enough produce to set up a booth at the farmers market, according to my wife!
